James E Mantie

James E. Mantie, 87, widower of Helen (Marek), of Bristol, passed away on Saturday March 11, 2017.
James was born on July 11, 1929 in Hartford, CT a son of the late Herman and Edith (Grant) Mantie.
Mr. Mantie, a US Army veteran, was a retired electrician from Wallace Barnes.
He is survived by his two sons and their spouses, James and Nora Mantie of Kansas and Brian and Lisa Mantie of Rhode Island; his daughter and her husband Cindy and Ron Chabre of Windsor Locks; five grandchildren; his brother and his wife, Charles and Phyllis Mantie of Florida; his sister Mary Fillatti of East Hartford and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Bernice Wade and his brothers, Ken, Clayton, Richard and Joe Mantie.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday March 16, 2017 from 5 PM until 7PM at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Forestville/Bristol.
Funeral services will be held on Friday March 17, 2017 at 10AM from O’Brien Funeral Home to St. Matthew Church, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Avon.
