Dear TJ and Peggy,
My heart's breaking to be writing this to you, much too early in your lives. Although I haven't seen you in quite a long while, your family has always been in my bank of good memories. I'm so very sorry for your loss of Kirsten. By your bio, Kirsten seemed to be an indomitable spirit, one surely to be held in your hearts for a lifetime. She packed a great number of joy filled accomplishments into her munificent life, and I'm sure that was due to her loving, supportive family.
How coincidental that I have also had many a waiting experience in Hartford Hospital's Neuro-Trauma Unit; so much so that I even have a favorite doc, Brendan Killory (my loved ones who've been in the NTICU were all beneficiaries of his surgical skills), and a much appreciated nurse, Jared. I, too, decorated many a window there, with memorable pictures and loving get well wishes, hoping with all my fear and might that they'd go from my pen to the hand of God. That unit reminds us all of the fragility of human life and the gifts we can share when our loved ones pass.
Sending you my deepest sympathy and compassion,
Burma
"As you danced in the light with joy, love lifted you. As you brushed against this world so gently, your love lifted us."

Dear Peg,Tony & Kyle-
Kirsten was a gift to all of us who were lucky enough to have her Kirsten-energy-sparkle touch us. She was so much fun. She was so funny too. She was a leader. She paved the way for kids with disabilities by being one of the first to join the Mills Drama Club and then she was in the first class of Project Search kids. I was there at the orientation last year when Kirsten got up like a pro and spoke so well, with no script, to all the new interns and their parents about her experiences with Project Search. Kirsten embraced who she was and what she loved. She wanted to be an actress, and she certainly was a very good actress. She was a star, and she is still a star who lives on in all of our memories. We will all miss that sparkle. We are thinking of you. Love to you-- Kim, Scott, Jay and Kristin

My sincerest condolences! I did not know Kirsten or your family but the remarkable tribute that you shared with the world made me do something I rarely do reading an obituary... smile. I mourn with you, knowing I will never cross paths with Kirsten nor watch her debut on television, nor share in her joy and laughter and loving nature. Thank you for sharing this little bit about a truly remarkable woman!

I only met Kirsten last year when we worked together on the favahr play "Shrek The Musical". She was a talented, cheerful person, and a pleasure to work with. She was such a nice person, it is unfair that she had such a short life to live. My sincerest condolences to Kirsten's family. I can't even imagine your loss. I wish you all the best.

You don't know me, but I wanted to send my condolences. I am a fellow UCONN Health employee and read Kirsten's beautiful memorial in our daily email bulletin at work. I also wanted to let you know that my sister-in-law was brought to the room next door to Kirsten in the Neuro ICU at Hartford Hospital on Thursday, August 10th. The difficult hours spent in the room over the next several days were lightened by seeing your daughter's smiling face in the pictures hanging on the frosted glass window between the two rooms. My family and I are terribly sorry for your loss. Please know that, even in her last days, she brought smiles to others who were suffering.
