Agnes O. Ogonowski

Agnes (Oszaniec) Ogonowski, passed peacefully Friday afternoon, January 1, 2021 at Bristol Hospital. She was the wife of the late Stanley A. Ogonowski who passed in 2018.

Agnes was born in Bristol on January 21, 1931 the daughter of the late Thomas and Proxa (Kornotcke) Oszaniec and was a lifelong resident. She graduated with the Class of 1948 from Bristol High School. Agnes had worked for Bristol Spring Manufacturing Co. for 35 years as a timekeeper. She was a longtime member of St. Stanislaus Church and of their Golden Agers and Ladies Guild. She enjoyed being a volunteer and a member of the Plainville Senior Center and a member of the Bristol Senior Center. Agnes enjoyed playing cards, bingo and going to the casinos.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Ingraham Manor, who compassionately cared for Agnes as a long-term resident for the past year and a half, and the staff at Bristol Hospital who compassionately cared for her medical and emotional needs in her final hours.  

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Helen Niski of Bristol and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Agnes is predeceased by her sons, Thomas A. Ogonowski and Robert J. Ogonowski and by her siblings Louise, Ethel, Anna, Mildred and Theodore. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. directly at St. Stanislaus Church, 510 West St., Bristol. Please adhere to all current COVID-19 protocols including social distancing and the wearing of a face mask. Committal service and interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, 522 Terryville Ave., Bristol. O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Forestville is honored to assist the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Stanislaus Church, 510 West St., Bristol.
