Col. Ann M. Cichetti, USAF Ret., 91, passed away peacefully on Friday July 10, 2020.
Ann was born on August 3, 1928 in West Hartford, CT the daughter of the late Serafino and Mary (Caiazza) Cichetti. Ann received her RN from St. Francis hospital in 1950 and her masters in nursing at University of Nebraska in Omaha.
Col. Cichetti served during the Korean and Vietnam conflicts starting as a flight nurse in Japan. She served several tours of duty in Japan, Germany and airbases in the United States before retiring from the United States Air Force as a Col. and went on to become the Nursing Supervisor at Care Manor before retiring in 1998. She was very proud of her military service and was a great advocate for animals and an avid Dallas Cowboys and Boston Red Sox fan.
She leaves behind eight nieces and nephews; seventeen great-nieces and nephews and several great-great nephews.
She was predeceased by her sisters Dolores “Dee” Lestini-Buden and June F. Pavelchak and her niece Jessica Lestini.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday July 15, 2020 from 4 pm until 7 PM at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Bristol/Forestville, CT. Please adhere to all current COVID-19 protocols, in addition please keep visitation time to a minimum in consideration to occupancy limits at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday July 16, 2020 at 10 AM, directly at St. Matthew Church, 120 Church Ave., Bristol followed by a procession to St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain for the entombment with military honors.
