Antonio D. Cassetta, 63, of Waterbury, passed peacefully Monday morning March 4, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Kathleen (Jarceau) Cassetta.
Antonio was born in Waterbury on August 24, 1955 son of Antonietta (Capozzi) Cassetta and the late Frank Cassetta and was a lifelong resident. He was the owner and operator of Cassetta Transportation Service, LLC. Antonio was a truck driver for over 45 years, a job he wanted to do all of his life. He was also a member of St. Anthony’s Church, Prospect where he and his wife were married.
Besides his wife and mother, he leaves his son, Anthony Cassetta and his wife Kiara, daughters Angela Cassetta, Christina Cassetta Clark and Elicia Cassetta; brothers Joseph Cassetta (Amy) and Frank Cassetta; sisters Marie O’Brien (Tom), Joanna Rothbard (Richard), Carmella Cassetta (David Loomis), Cecilia and Donna Cassetta; 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was recently predeceased by his grandson Calogero Anthony Cassetta.
Antonio’s funeral will leave on Monday, March 11, 2019 at 9:15 a.m. from Bergin Funeral Home, 290 East Main St., Waterbury and will proceed to St. Anthony Church, 4 Union City Rd., Prospect for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Committal service and interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Waterbury. Friends and loved ones are invited to calling hours on Sunday between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. at the Bergin Funeral Home.
