Bruce J. Alexander, 70, of Bristol, passed unexpectedly at home on Sunday, December 2, 2018. He was the husband of Annette “Anne” (Ouellette) Alexander.
Bruce was born in New Britain on May 26, 1948, the son of Evangeline (Dube) (Alexander) Picard of Plainville and the late Joseph E. Alexander. He was a journeyman electrician who had worked for Arthur’s Industries and he was an electrician and a polisher for DDM Metal of Tolland. Bruce was a communicant of the Church of St. Matthew in Forestville where he and his wife were Eucharistic Ministers. Bruce was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Besides his wife and his mother, Bruce leaves his daughters Sonia Watts (Robert) of Mahopac, NY and Michelle Landry (Stan) of Vernon and his son, Shawn Alexander of Enfield,; grandchildren A.J., Conor and Katie Watts, Brooke and Sarah Landry and Krista and Shawn Alexander, Jr.; and multiple nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Linda Lubomski and his stepfather Gerald Picard.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018 between 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Forestville/Bristol. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the Church of St. Matthew, 120 Church Ave., Forestville/Bristol. Those wishing to attend are asked to go directly to the church. Committal service and interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, 522 Terryville Ave., Bristol. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., 260 Cochituate Road #200, Framingham, MA, 01701.
