Carmel Ann Murphy

Carmel Ann Murphy, 60, of Coventry, Connecticut, daughter of Joan (Borrelli) Murphy and the late Jeremiah Murphy passed away peacefully on March 12, 2019.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her brother James, her sister Andrea Graham and her husband David, nieces Brittani Murphy, Kendall and Allison Graham. She leaves behind her aunts and uncle; Anne Borrelli, Mary Wilson, Steve Borrelli and his wife Marilyn, cousins Matthew Wilson, Karen Borrelli and Lisa Herran.

Carmel was born in Bristol, attended local schools, and enjoyed a successful career at Cigna. She had a very close knit group of friends whom she loved dearly. Carmel enjoyed many interests including books, music, knitting, horseback riding, and art. She had a soft spot for Chocolate Labs and throughout the years was blessed to have the companionship of pups Darby, Scout and Carly in addition to “Jack the Cat”. Her happy place was the beach. These interests, along with her family and friends brought her great joy.

A memorial service will be held at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Forestville/Bristol on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Carmel requested that donations be made to Baywood Kennels, 10 Moose Meadow Road, Willington CT 06279.
