We are sorry for your loss. He will be missed by all as he was such a great family man, friend and neighbor. We spent many a summer day at Little Island Pond listening to the many interesting stories he told about his adventures in life. What an amazing journey he had.

Unc, you were so much more than an uncle to me.
when I was young you did so much for me that you were like a second father.
I will miss you greatly . I cry for you and grieve for your family .
You were the greatest uncle that ever could be.

I never had the privilege to personally know Donald but I know his legacy for I know his family. The most precious thing we can leave behind are the people that we impacted. What a beautiful human being he helped to grow in you Joyce! A giving, loving, devoted mother and wife. Selflessly caring for those around you. And in the granddaughter I have the opportunity to love so much! Breanne loves deeply, works passionately and lives life fully. She leaves nothing behind. Throws are heart over the line in everything she does and with the drive and constant mission to love and protect her family. This is just a small description of a bit of the incredible legacy of Donald J. Murphy. May you all feel God‘s love and protection during this difficult tome.

We have lots of memories of visiting you at Little Island Pond when I was young and then when our boys were little. Lately we enjoyed spending a few hours with you one day during the summer when we were on our way to NH. I remember visiting you in Mystic Ct. too, and the times you came to NJ to visit Mom.. You will be missed my Uncle and Godfather. May you rest in peace Uncle.
