Tribute

Donald E. Sprague was born on January 7, 1940 in Plainville, CT and died on September 27, 2021. He was predeceased by his parents Hubert and Eleanor; his four sisters and three brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; his daughter Elise Tyminski and granddaughter Annalise both of Marlborough, CT; his son Seth and his wife Kimberly of Westminster, CO and many nieces and nephews.
Donald attended public schools in Bristol and received Bachelor Degrees from both CCSU and UCONN. He was employed by Aetna for 26 years in Health Operations.
In his working and retirement years, he was active in several community organizations, including SAIL/CCCI, RSVP, BCO, a public school mentor and tutor and a docent for NBMAA for 7 years.
He was blessed for 57 years with an angel on earth, his devoted and loving wife, Elizabeth, whom he adored “She was the best thing that ever happened to me”. Her steadfast faith, her love of family and her pride of her Slavic heritage made her “my better 7/8”.
Calling hours will be held on Friday October 1, 2021 from 4 PM until 6 PM at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Bristol. The family requests that masks be worn.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 9:30 AM from O’Brien Funeral Home to St. Gregory Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM followed by a procession to Holy Family Mausoleum at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol for an entombment with military honors.
