Edith (Peggy) Pesino, 99, of Bristol, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at home. She was born in Rochester, Victoria, Australia on January 24, 1922, daughter of the late Alfred and Edith (Copeland) Thompson.
Peggy departed Melborn, Australia in August 1942 via steam ship with an infant daughter to San Frisco, CA. From there they boarded a train and moved to Bristol, CT. She was a World War II bride and married the love of her life, an US Marine, James E. Pesino.
Peggy worked at Aetna Insurance for 38 years. She was a member at St. Anthony Church and she enjoyed bowling, gardening and traveling all over the country to attend Marine Corp reunions. Peggy enjoyed her very active social life. She was one of a kind and will be deeply missed.
Peggy is survived by her daughter Francis Rock and her husband Terry of Bristol; son Terry Pesino and his wife Sandy of Burlington. Grandchildren Kelly Rock and her significant other Andy Guziewicz of Essex, David Rock and his wife Leslie of Farmington, Marlo McQuiggan of Bristol, Elissa Pesino of Bristol and great-grandchildren Sean and Lauren Rock of Farmington.
