Edward J. Swenton, Sr., 91 of Bristol and Melbourne Beach, FL passed away on Saturday June 13, 2020.
He was born on March 19, 1929 in Bristol, the son of the late Stanislau and Apollonia (Kolek) Swenton.
Edward was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and was the owner of The Bristol Tool & Die Co. He was a member of the American Legion, The Elks Lodge and The Loyal Order of Moose.
During his retirement, he enjoyed traveling to Florida, spending time with family and friends and ballroom dancing.
He is survived by his children, Paula S. Hasselman, Doreen Swenton, Edward Swenton, Jr. and Laura Somero and her husband Marty; his granddaughter Tanya Beaulieu and her husband AJ and their children Jasmine, Ciera and Kaylie as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Joan (McNamara) Swenton after 50 years of marriage; his brothers Stanley and Thaddeus Swenton and his sisters Bernice Vorin, Mary Kowalczyk and Eleanor Gadzik.
Our family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Bristol Hospital for their compassionate care as well as the doctors, nurses and staff at the VA Medical Center in Newington and West Haven. We also appreciate the home health care providers at Masonicare and Dynamic Touch
