Eileen Mary Philipp

Eileen Mary Philipp, 59, died Thursday, October 3, 2019 at the home she shared with her brother Kurt.

Eileen was born in Bridgeport, the youngest and best of the ten children of Carl and Norine Harding Philipp. Eileen graduated from Central High School and was associated with Bristol Adult Resource Center for over forty years. She spent most of these years as a waitress at the Dining Room. In 2012, Eileen received an award of appreciation for her many years of service at BARC. Eileen had a full life. She loved her family, her friends, her work, and her vacations. She spent time each year at Cape Cod and traveled to many places including Boston, Florida, NYC, California, and Texas. Her favorite was the Big Trip to Austria where she visited the places highlighted in her beloved Sound of Music. Eileen loved music and dancing, the Red Sox, and UCONN basketball. She was quick to laugh, was friendly and loved by all.

Eileen was predeceased by her parents, Carl and Norine Philipp and her sister-in-law Michele Philipp. She was the center of the family and is survived by her siblings: Carl, Joseph, Kathleen, Peter, John, Norine, Kurt, Mary and Michael, her sisters-in-law, Pat, Mary Beth and Nancy and good friends, Margaret Fachini, Ann Morrison, and Chris Webster. Eileen is also survived by 12 nieces and nephews and 19 grand nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank her exceptionally kind care givers, Krystyna, Olive, Tracy and Natalia, and everyone at BARC, especially Pam Delaney. We are grateful for the outstanding care provided by Bristol Home Care and Hospice Agency, especially Julie. Eileen will live in our hearts forever.

Friends and loved ones are invited to calling hours between 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 7, 2019 at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Forestville/Bristol. Calling hour will also begin at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning October 9th until the procession leaves for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m., at St. Gregory Church, 235 Maltby St., Bristol. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, 522 Terryville Ave., Bristol. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eileen's memory to BARC, PO Box 726, Bristol, Ct. 06011-0726.
