Ethel Mae (Morin) Case, 100, of Burlington passed away peacefully on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Countryside Manor surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth F. Case, in 2005 after 67 years of marriage. Born in Bristol on March 9, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Alfred J. and Elizabeth (Jacques) Morin.
Ethel moved to Burlington at an early age and resided there for all but the last nine years of her life. She attended Burlington and Bristol schools. She was a member of the Burlington Senior Citizens and a past officer of the Burlington Volunteer Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary.
Ethel will be greatly missed by her family who was the main focus of her life. She was an avid gardener and loved the outdoors. She also enjoyed crocheting, was a talented seamstress and a die-hard Yankees fan. Ethel and her husband enjoyed camping and had many adventures as they traveled all across the country.
A loving and devoted mother and grandmother, Ethel is survived by her sons Phillip R. Case and his partner Helga Rehberg of Bristol, Dennis R. Case and his wife Elizabeth of Burlington; a son-in-law, Roland J. Lamothe of Bristol, nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Kenneth A. Case and daughter-in-law, Carol Case, her daughter, Patricia Lamothe, daughter-in-law Theresa Case, her brothers and sisters-in-law Alfred W. and Nellie L. Morin of Bristol, and Richard J. and Dorothy B. Morin of Tucson, AZ.
Her family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the wonderful staff at Countryside Manor of Bristol for their loving and compassionate care of Ethel for the past nine years. They were her surrogate family, especially during Covid when we could not visit her.
Calling hours will be held at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Bristol on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 starting at 9:30AM until a procession that will leave for St. Gregory the Great Church, 235 Maltby St., Bristol for an 11AM Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
