Frances J. Marek

Frances Jordan Marek, 82 of Bristol, died Monday, January 30, 2023 at her home. Born to Francis and Cora (Bouvier) Jordan in 1940, she grew up in Hartford. Fran retired after 20 years at UConn Health Center. She was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Frank; her parents; her sister, Elaine; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Fran’s life and love will continue to be celebrated by: her daughter, Kathleen of Hartford; her son, Kenneth and Lynn of Bristol; and her daughter, Jacqueline and son-in-law, Stanley Murak of Cromwell, her son Michael and Rebecca of New Britain, and her treasured granddaughters, Hannah and Hayley Bissonnette. She will also be missed by her sisters, Linda Ringstad and Judy Allaire and her husband Arthur as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family wishes to express tremendous gratitude to Fran’s compassionate and committed team of caregivers and the nurses of the Bristol Hospital Homecare Hospice Program.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Avenue, Bristol from 8:30 AM until 10:30 AM followed by a procession to St. Gregory Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM then to St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.

Donations in honor of Fran’s life may be made to either: Bristol Hospital Homecare Hospice Program, St. Gregory the Great Church in Bristol or the CT Humane Society.
