Francesco “Frank” L. Covino of Plantsville passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday December 4, 2021.
Frank was born on March 5, 1933 in Bagnoli, Italy, the son of the late Savino and Concetta (Frasca) Covino.
Mr. Covino was a longtime resident of Bristol who served with the US Army, stationed in Korea during peacetime. He was a devout member of St. Anthony Church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and advocate for the unborn. Mr. Covino retired from General Electric where he worked for over 37 years as an Electrical Technician.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years (celebrated in October), Sylvia (Verrastro) Covino; his two sons Lawrence and his wife K.C. Covino and Gregory and his wife Megan Covino; his grandchildren Jessica, Steven and his wife Lara, Alex and his wife Kacey, Michael, Ryan and Christian; his great granddaughter Gracie Ann and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his two sisters, Gina Branca and Lena Corso.
Frank enjoyed family and friends and was also a passionate life-long Yankee’s fan and enjoyed watching UConn Huskies basketball.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 10 AM directly at St. Francis de Sales Parish/ Church of St. Anthony, School St., Bristol followed by a procession to St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
