Tribute

Giacomo “Jack” Bellantuono, 89, of Bristol, passed away at home on Friday, September 24, 2021. He was born on June 27, 1932 in New Britain, son of the late Giovanni and Giovannina (DiPinto) Bellantuono.

Jack was the loving husband of Michelina (Mariano) Bellantuono for 65 years. They were meant to be together, born a day apart in 1932. He saw combat and received several medals and citations for his actions. He spent his post-war career at General Electric in Plainville. Following his retirement, Jack enjoyed his remaining years surrounded by his tight-knit family, who were never far. He treasured all his grandchildren, weekly family dinners, woodworking, and gardening.

Besides his wife, Michelina, Jack is survived by his sons John Bellantuono and his wife Carolyn of Bristol, Paul Bellantuono and his wife Kristen of Bristol, Michael Bellantuono and his wife Hope of Bristol; daughters Joan Pelkey and her husband Peter of Bristol, Diane Ragali and her husband Timothy of Southington, Patricia Siemiatkoski of Bristol; grandchildren Anthony, Christopher, Gia, Andrew, Daniel, Jenna, Jack, Joshua, Ava, Kaylee; great-grandchildren Juliana, Parker, Kobe; sister Josephine Lanza of Hebron and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his siblings Lucy, Vincent, Anthony and Marie.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all of Jack’s caregivers—including Godfreed, Andre, Heather, and Michael—who gave him comfort and compassion in his final days.
