Gilles H. Angers, 85, of Bristol passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February17, 2019 at home. He was the husband of the late Janet (Burneika) Angers.

Gil was born in Bristol on September 24, 1933 the son of the late Lucien and Malvina (Cyr) Angers. He was a member of St. Ann Church and was a realtor having worked for Country Manor Realty of Bristol.

He was a life-long member of the Bristol Boys Club, an avid golfer, and a fan of UConn Women’s Basketball. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren in their various activities, and always made friends with his children’s dogs. Gil was known for his big heart and great sense of humor.

He leaves his children, Glen Angers and his wife Jodi of Burlington, Russ Angers and his wife Kathie of Tolland and Jill Miller and her husband Ronald of Bristol; a sister, Jeannine Kallberg of Newington; 8 grandchildren, Connor, Courtney, Caitlin, Josephine, Ryan and Michael Angers, Keegan and Lance Miller; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, Gil was predeceased by his brother, Marcel Angers of Saco, ME.

Gil’s funeral will begin on Friday, February 22nd at 8:15 a.m. from O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Forestville/Bristol and will proceed to St. Ann Church, 215 West St, Bristol, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. Committal and interment services will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, 522 Terryville Ave., Bristol. Friends and loved ones are invited to calling hours on Thursday, February 21st between 5:00 and 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
