Gladys (Dudzik) Haber, 88 passed peacefully and with dignity on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at her residence. She was the devoted wife of 40 years to the late Edward F. Haber who passed in 1999. They loved each other dearly and were proud of their Polish heritage.
Gladys was born in Southington on January 22,1932 the daughter of the late George and Agnes (Kusek) Dudzik. Earlier in her life, she worked for Peck, Stowe & Wilcox in Southington in their accounting office and later, she worked for General Electric in Plainville in the same capacity.
Gladys was an avid sports fan who was also a cheerleader for her Lewis High School football and basketball teams in Southington. She was athletic and played softball.
She enjoyed polkas and other types of dancing and life in general always with a smile on her face. She enjoyed cooking her Polish dishes.
She was a devoted and loving mother, daughter and wife who cherished her family and friends all the time. She respected and cared for her parents very much and helped them immensely throughout their lives always thinking of how to be the best daughter one can be. She was a very caring, generous and warmhearted person. She had a long wonderful life. She will be sadly missed by all.
She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, Forestville. She was very religious always maintaining dignity, faithfulness and reverence for Jesus.
She leaves her children, Edward P. Haber, Aileen J. Haber and Chad P. Haber all of Bristol; brothers George Dudzik, Jr. and Frank Dudzik, both of Southington; sisters Jean Myska of New Britain and Lillian Costello of Southington and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Gladys is predeceased by her brothers John and William Dudzik and sisters Mary Ross and Amelia Parzych.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Matthew Church, 120 Church Ave., Forestville. All are asked to meet directly at the church. Social distancing and face masks are required. A procession to St. Joseph Cemetery, 522 Terryville Ave., Bristol will follow. Those wishing to meet the arriving procession may arrive at the cemetery shortly before 1:30 p.m.. The graveside service will be in the south section of the cemetery (left hand side travelling up Terryville Ave. from the center of Bristol). There are no calling hours.
