Gregory Michael Casey, 92, of Bristol, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on September 24, 2022. He was born on September 15, 1930, in Forestville, a son of the late Michael and Loretta (Gregory) Casey.
Gregory worked as a quality control inspector at Stanley Works for 23 years and as an assembly line welder at General Motors for 20 years, until his retirement. Gregory was a longtime resident of Forestville, spending 27 years as a member of the Pequabuck Golf Club. He lived in Florida from 1993 until 2020 when he moved back to CT. He loved to watch sports with his favorite teams being UConn Women’s Basketball, Boston Red Sox and Notre Dame College Football. Greg was also an accomplished amateur golfer with five recorded hole-in-ones.
Gregory is survived by his three children Michael Casey, Kevin Casey and his wife Kristen, and Kathleen Allen and her husband Jay; eight grandchildren Cullen Casey, Michael Allen, NiQuonne Washington, Kazmine Casey, Colton Casey, Justin Stankiewicz, Zoey Casey and Hunter Casey; one great-grand daughter Maya Washington; his longtime companion Norma Segal; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by all six of his siblings Katherine Paretta, Walter Casey, Robert Casey, Harold Casey, Marirose Clay, and Anne May Casey.
Calling hours will be held at O’Brien Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 from 5-7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2022 beginning at O’Brien Funeral Home from 8:30-9:00am, procession to follow to St. Matthew Church for mass at 9:30am. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
