Howard Lewis Clark, (Choppy) 95, of Bristol, passed peacefully Thursday afternoon January 21, 2021. He was the husband of the late Barbara (Sweeney) Clark.

Howard was born in Southington on November 22, 1925 the son of the late Charles and Gladys (Springer) Clark. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Army as a medical tech. He was the recipient of the American Theater Campaign Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon and the Victory Medal. As a civilian, Howard retired from American Cyanamid Company in Wallingford CT. He also was the Manager of Pachaug Marina and Campground in Griswold CT for several years where he enjoyed spending time with Family and Friends. He was also a member of the VFW Post 9965 In Wallingford.

He leaves his children, Kirby Clark (Cheryl), Vincent and John Palaia, Deborah Palaia who was also his caregiver, Virginia Vance (James Ware) and Linda Postemski; and a brother, Donald Clark (Beatrice). He also leaves many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A special thanks goes to Jonathan Lapointe, Randilynn Lapointe and Kaylynn Lapointe for making his last few years enjoyable and memorable. Besides his wife and parents, Howard was predeceased by his sons Randy and Charles Clark and Daniel Palaia, brothers Willard, Robert, Wesley and Jack Clark.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held in the Spring of 2021. The O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Forestville is assisting with the arrangements.
