Jean Marie Griffin, 74, of Bristol, died peacefully on December 7, 2021, from complications of COVID-19. She was born on January 30, 1947, in Waterbury, daughter of the late Joseph F. and Dora E. (Cote) Griffin.
Jean is survived by her brothers, Matthew Griffin of Rocky Hill and James Griffin of Bristol; her sister, JoAnn Alspach of Annapolis, MD; her niece, Jennifer Lynn Alspach (Andre Dique) of Boston; and cousins in CT, MA, VT and OH. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph F. Griffin, Jr., who died as a newborn.
Jean graduated from St. Anthony elementary school and high school and from Quinnipiac College in Hamden. She worked as a senior radiology transcriptionist at Grove Hill Medical Center in New Britain for nearly 34 years. Jeanie enjoyed family gatherings, dinners with St. Anthony alumnae friends, visits to cozy coffee shops, and walking along New England seashores. Jean was the most kind, charitable “big sister” one could ask for and will be dearly missed.
A Mass in Jean’s name will be held on Sunday, January 30, 2022, at 9 am at St. Gregory the Great Church in Bristol with burial on Monday, January 31, 2022 at 10 am in St. Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Bristol Salvation Army.
