Jeffrey F. MacDonald

Jeffrey F. MacDonald, 73, of Colchester, formerly Burlington, passed away at home on Wednesday, September 25, 2019. He was born on March 29, 1946 in Bristol, son of the late Floyd and Claire (Toupin) MacDonald.

Jeff was a devoted husband of 48 years to his wife, Paulette (Baccile) MacDonald.
Jeff and Paulette traveled often with a group of close friends. He was a die-hard Patriots, Red Sox and UConn fan and he enjoyed golfing. Jeff served our country with pride in the U.S. Air Force and then started his career as an air traffic controller for the FAA. He also drove a school bus for 30 years during and after his career. Above all, Jeff was a valued family guy and friend, the "go to guy" for all of them. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

Besides his wife, Jeff leaves his children and grandchildren Brooke Cote and her husband Brian and their children Emma and Nathan, Megan Forsberg and her children Ethan, Kassidi and Rayn, Chad MacDonald and his wife Lindsey and their children Noah and Chelsea; siblings Gary MacDonald, Dale Perry, William MacDonald, Lisa D’Amato, Scott MacDonald, several brothers and sister-in-laws, along with many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother Wayne MacDonald.

The family would like to personally thank Emily from Middlesex Health Weiss Comfort Care Unit for her care and compassion during this time. We would also like to thank those caring for Jeff from the Connecticut Oncology unit and others from Middlesex Health Weiss Comfort Care Unit.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2019 between 4PM and 7PM at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Forestville/Bristol. A service will be held at O’Brien Funeral Home on Monday, September 30, 2019 at 10:30AM. A burial will follow at The State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown.
