John G. St. Hilaire, 77, of Bristol, passed peacefully early Monday morning, March 1, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Louise (Lemieux) St. Hilaire.
John was born on October 17, 1943 in St. Anges, Quebec, Canada the son of the late Lucien and Madeleine (LeClerc) St. Hilaire. He was a member of St. Gregory Church, a former member of the Bristol Fish & Game Club, and a member of Connecticut Area Classic Thunderbird Club. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was also very involved in NASCAR racing.
Besides his wife, John leaves his children, Mark St. Hilaire of Berlin and Susan Lamontagne and her husband Bernie of Bristol, grandchildren Nicholas Desaulniers (Rachel) and Madeleine Lamontagne; siblings Gerard St. Hilaire (Carol) of Riverton, Denis St. Hilaire (Susan) of Coventry and Denise St. Hilaire; brothers-in-law Yvon Lemieux (Renate), Gilles Lemieux (Pierette), Donald Lemieux (Carol), sister-in-law Nicole Breton; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, John is predeceased by his sister Georgette Kende, brothers-in-law Jean-Claude, Paul, Normand Lemieux and Jean Breton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gregory Church, 235 Maltby St., Bristol. All COVID protocols are to be observed and all are asked to meet directly at the church.
