John “Jack” Francis Wojtusik, Sr., 77, of Burlington, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Monday August 14, 2017.
John was born on June 16, 1940 in New Britain, a son of the late Joseph and Jane (Kolpak) Wojtusik.
He was the retired Superintendent of the Bristol water filtration plant and a US Marine Corps veteran. Jack loved the outdoors, tending to his garden and wintering at his home in West Palm Beach. He was a member of the Marine Corps League and the Plainville YMCA.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis (Murphy) Wojtusik; his daughter Susan and her husband Jon Spitz and their children Nick and Andrew of Southington; his son John Wojtusik, Jr. of New Britain; his sisters, Joanne Sullivan and Sister Marylou Wojtusik; his sisters-in-law Barbara and Gail Wojtusik and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Thomas and Edward Wojtusik.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday August 16 from 6PM until 8PM at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave Bristol/Forestville. Funeral services will be held on Thursday August 17, 2017 at 8:30AM from O’Brien Funeral Home to St. Matthew Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM, followed by a procession to St. Joseph Cemetery/Holy Family Mausoleum.
