Omer J. Deabay, 92 of Farmington passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023. He was born on April 13, 1930 in Ashland, ME, son of the late Maxim and Melvina (Theriault) Deabay.
Omer was the loving husband of Pauline (Soucier) Deabay for 72 years. He served our country in the U.S. Army. During that time he was wounded, awarding him a three time Purple Heart recipient. After his retirement from Amodio Moving and Storage. Omer could be found counseling other veterans or speaking on behalf of his time spent in Korea. Omer was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was most proud of his family and was known to say “I don’t have much in money, but I’m a millionaire in my family alone”.
Besides his wife and best friend Pauline, Omer is survived by his children Martha Dalfino (Robert Sr.) Gary Deabay (Joan) Sherry Cazzetta (Peter) daughter in laws Donna Deabay and Darlene Deabay, grandchildren Lisa Gonzales, Vicki Rosengren, Brian Johnson, Robert Dalfino Jr, Amanda Hergott, Samantha Miller, Mark Deabay, Stacie Moore, Jaime Deabay, Heather Schibi, Sean Toussaint, twenty-one great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren. Omer was predeceased by his sons, Richard and Michael and his 12 siblings.
Omer will be remembered for his kind heart and booming voice.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 from 5 PM to 7 PM at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Bristol. A funeral will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 starting at the funeral home at 9 AM until a procession that will leave for St Gregory the Great Church, 235 Maltby St., Bristol for a 10AM Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol
