Patricia Ann (Urso) Malvezzi

Patricia (Urso) Malvezzi, 70, of Bristol, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, October 7, 2017. She was the beloved wife of Dale Richard Malvezzi for 48 years. Born in Bristol on December 20, 1946, she was the daughter of Benjamin Peter Urso and the late Nancy (Serra) Urso. 
 
She attended St. Anthony’s Grammar and High Schools as well as the M. Kavula Institute of Hair Design. She was the co-owner of Nancy’s Beauty Salon on School Street for over 20 years, a business started by her mother in 1960.
 
Patty was known by her family and many friends for her superior and abundant cooking skills; cleaning, organizing and holiday decorating prowess; as well as her maternal instinct and passion for family and friends. She was always happiest preparing meals for her loved ones, doing in-home beauty care for shut-ins, attending a musical performance of her daughter’s and playing with her grandsons.
 
In addition to her husband, Patty is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Beth Malvezzi and Matthew Crowley of Plantsville; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Nicole Malvezzi of Bristol; twin grandsons, Sebastian and Julian Malvezzi; her sister and brother-in-law, Marianne and Edward Evanouskas; her brother and sister-in-law, Nicholas and Carolyn Urso; several cousins, nieces, nephews and godchildren; her longtime dear friends, Irene and Thomas Killiany of Bristol, Kathleen Bannon of Farmington, Andrea and William Zabel and Barbara and Richard Elliott of Old Saybrook.
 
She and the family extend their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all of her family and friends for their love and support throughout her long illness, and especially to her cousins RoseAnn and Robert Chatfield of Bristol.
 
Patty’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 9:00AM. from O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Forestville/Bristol and will proceed to St. Matthew Church, 120 Church Ave., Forestville for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at O’Brien Funeral Home between 5:00PM and 8:00PM.
