Patsy Michael Musumano, 83 of Bristol sadly passed away on November 8, 2023. He was born on April 8, 1940 in Bristol to parents Patsy M. Musumano Sr. and Julia Rose (Alowatt). He was larger than life, a beloved leader of his family. Patsy grew up in Bristol, CT in a close-knit Italian family. Patsy has roots in West Virginia with his parents along with other family members moving to Bristol from Shinston, WV.
His family and his extended family settled in a home near St. Anthony’s church where they enjoyed a simple blue-collar life filled with Italian food, fun and hard work. Patsy’s family exhibited a strong work ethic with Patsy Sr. setting an example for his children by holding down two jobs to support them.
Patsy and his older brother Greg began their careers by opening a barber shop in the Bristol Plaza. They loved working together and they would continue to do so in other ventures well into the later years of their life. The barber shop was a gathering place for friends and movers and shakers in the Bristol Community where many stories were shared.
Ever the entrepreneur he transitioned from being a barber to becoming a home builder. He would eventually partner with his brother Greg building executive style homes from Bristol to Avon. They employed most of our family with his sister Mary (Zuggie) overseeing the office. And his siblings Sharon, Richard and Bobby eventually ventured out to become builders on their own.
His “second” building career started in Naples FL with his wife Donna where they built an amazing award-winning building company Cornerstone Developers. As the company matured Patsy brought in his son Greg, son-in-law Paul, brother Greg and eventually his son Jeffrey and his wife Gisele. It was a true family business. Donna and Patsy crafted a culture of excellence that would bring Cornerstone Developers multiple Sand Dollar awards including the honor of one of their beautiful homes being chosen for the cover of the Dupont Registry. Up until his passing Patsy and Donna were working with his son Greg on a series of custom homes on Key Marco.
Patsy’s first passion was his family. His children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family all felt his immense love and acceptance. Everyone loved his cookouts, everyone felt his spirit of hospitality. His 4th of July parties were legendary with an epic fireworks display. It was quite a spectacle that the entire family, friends and neighbors enjoyed.
Patsy is survived by his wife Donna, his sons Jeffrey and his wife Gisele, his son Gregory and daughter Dina Radcliffe, his grandchildren Tia Dawley and her husband Jon, Matthew Musumano, Jordan, Catherine, Nathan, Jacinta, Cece, Isabel and Aiden Musumano, Aaron Radcliffe and his wife Joey, Ashley, Marisa, Jacob and Liam Radcliffe. And great grandchildren Gino Musumano, Nathanial Rogers, Juliette Dawley and Matteo Musumano and his brother-in-law Martin Hovanesian his wife Jan and Son Jesse.
Giving back was something dear to his heart as well as his wife Donna. With that in mind in lieu of flowers please send donations to St. Matthews House which oversees a food pantry and other services provided to those in need. St. Matthews contact information is 239-774-0500 or stmatthewshouse.org.
