Tribute

It is with great sadness that the family of Richard Daigle, 85, of Bristol, CT announces his passing on Saturday, October 2, 2021 surrounded by his family. Richard was born on November 24, 1935 in Fort Kent, ME and was the son of the late Emile and Alexina (Daigle).

Richard was a proud veteran and served in the US Air Force from 1956 until 1960. His proudest accomplishment was teaching his grandchildren the value of hard work, the art of conversation and the generosity of giving to others. His grandchildren loved listening to his stories, whether it was the first time or the fifth time. Grandpa never missed a soccer or hockey game, a wrestling match or a dance competition. In Richard’s spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors with his wife, tending to his yard, spending time with his family and watching UConn men’s and women’s basketball.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Rena (Beaulieu); his two children Bruce Daigle and his wife Barbara of Avon and Tammy Wojtusik of Bristol; his four grandchildren Mitchell Daigle and his wife Alysa of VA, Erin Daigle and her fiancé Dave of Boston, Emily Wojtusik of West Hartford, and Andrew Wojtusik and his fiancé Amber of Pawtucket; and the little one that made Papa Rich the happiest, his great-granddaughter Raegan; brother Alton of East Millinocket ME; sisters Lenora Beck of Plainville and Nina Lulevitch of Southington along with several nieces and nephews. Richard was predeceased by his brothers Emilien and Alva Daigle and his sister Mildred Whitworth.
