Ronald A. Bouley, 77, of Bristol passed peacefully at Bristol Hospital on Thursday May 6, 2021 after a lengthy illness. He leaves his loving wife, Paulette Bouley (Blake) with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.
Ron was born in Ft. Kent, Maine on November 18, 1943 and was the son of the late Rosaire and Edna Bouley (Dubois). He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. Ron was a driven go-getter, always looking for and seizing on new opportunities; he captured the true entrepreneur spirit. For the majority of Ron's career he owned his own businesses, from route sales to his fondest and final venture of being the owner of Laraia’s Tobacco Shop in Torrington. He became an expert in all aspects of fine cigars and willingly shared his knowledge. He loved interacting with his customers, many who he considered friends. Ron had a bigger than life personality and loved a good laugh, family gatherings, parties, good food and raising a glass or two! He was lovingly known as "the King" by family and close friends.
In addition to his wife, Ron is survived by his sons, David Bouley and Gregory Bouley and his wife Holly; grandchildren Victoria, Sara, Blake and Peyton Bouley; his brother John Bouley and his wife Bernice of ME; his brother-in-law Edward Blake and his wife Susan as well as his sister-in-law Noella Blake. Ron also leaves several aunts, uncles, cousins and nephews. Last but not least he leaves his four legged companion, Treasure. He was predeceased by his brother Wilmer Bouley.
The family is grateful to the wonderful caring and professional staff at Bristol Hospital and The Bristol Wound Care Center. The family is also thankful to the Fresinius Dialysis Center staff in Forestville for their amazing care and attention to Ron over the past 6 years. Ron was known as a cheerful ray of sunshine at the dialysis center so in his honor we ask all to please make someone smile every day.
