Rose “Rosie” Lucenti, 91, of Bristol, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, November 3, 2023. She was born on November 10, 1931 in Kensington, daughter of the late Antonio and Anna (Pavano) Amenta. Rose was the loving wife of the late Dominick Lucenti, Sr. for 62 years before his passing in 2012. She enjoyed a long career in cosmetology where she owned her own shop called ‘Beauty by Rose’ in Forestville and then continued her career in cosmetology education.
Rose (Rosie) will be most remembered for her Sunday Italian dinners bringing family and friends together in her home and making everyone feel welcomed. Her devotion to family was well known as she lived every day for them. She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren with love and affection, as she was the foundation of the family. Anyone who walked through her door experienced her generosity and caring nature and she will be forever loved.
Rose is survived by her daughter Linda Tyler and her husband Scott; sons Joseph Lucenti and Paulette, Dominick Lucenti, Jr. and Cynthia, Paul Lucenti and Kim Damboise; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, Rose is predeceased by her brothers Sebastian, Joseph and Paul Amenta and sisters Connie Cappello, Josephine Bober, Doris Camden and Angelina Gianinni.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave. Bristol from 4PM until 7PM. A funeral will be held directly at St. Matthew Church, 120 Church Ave., Bristol on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 10AM. A burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain.
