William Laflin Doolittle

January 2, 1962 ~ January 25, 2020 (age 58) 58 Years Old

Tribute

William “Billy D” Doolittle, 58, of Bristol CT, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2020.

He was a loving husband, father and brother, a die-hard Boston sports fan, a reluctant dog lover, and loyal friend. He was happiest watching Patriots and Red Sox victories with his daughter, Kara (and subsequently relentlessly reminding all of his children how lucky they were to not have witnessed the years of constant losses and disappointments); sharing jokes that would inevitably infuriate his daughter, Kelly; teaching his son, Wil, to drive stick; and spending time with his best friends, Mike and Reed, who never failed to support him through the happiest and most difficult days of his life. To Mike and Reed, we will forever be grateful for the love you shared with him and for all that you have done and continue to do for our family.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; his three children Kara “Goose”, Kelly “Big Mac” and Wil “the Prodigal Son”; as well as his siblings Michael Doolittle and his wife Suzan, John Parker, Cathy Cowles and Ellen Korchma and her husband Murray, all of Bristol, CT.

He is predeceased by his father, William F. Doolittle, with whom he will be placed to rest, his mother, Elizabeth Parker-Doolittle and his siblings, Susan Minella and Timothy Doolittle.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 3, 2020 at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Bristol starting at 8:30AM until a procession to St. Joseph Church, 33 Queen St., Bristol for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM.
