I served with Bob in SE Asia in 1974-75. He and I immediately connected and became best of friends. We spent many hours on the racketball court and countless hours talking about home. When we weren't working, we were together. I had no idea he was ill and was shocked to hear of his passing. He truly was a Brother and I deeply regret not having kept in closer contact. He loved his family dearly and will be missed by many.

Dear Nilda, Monica, John, Melissa and extended family,
I was so very sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I was ill with the flu and could not attend the services but asked Ilsa to give you my condolences. I know how wonderful your family is and how important Bob was to all of you.
Nilda spoke of him often during the many years we worked together. She always referred to him as "my sweetie." After being married that long, it was so refreshing to hear and see a couple so clearly crazy about each-other. As a close family I am sure that there are many memories to sustain you during this sad time. Nilda, please lean on that wonderful family of yours at this time in your life. With affection - Joyce Bagley

John - I’d like to extend my sincere condolences to you and your family. Although it’s been quite awhile since I’ve seen your father, his positive outlook and positive words left a lasting impression. Judging by the comments here, he didn’t change one bit. Eventually, his words of wisdom and the life lessons he’s passed on to you will provide a sense of comfort and gratitude moving forward. Again, I offer my sincere condolences.

I was so sad to hear that Bob passed away. He worked for me for over 17 years and I could not have asked for a better man for the job. Bob worked countless hours (above and beyond) for the good of CCSU students and faculty. He was so giving and so humble. I know the suffering he went through before retirement and can only imagine it was probably worse after. I know he is in a better place and not in pain anymore. I have many good memories of Bob that I will cherish forever. Some funny that make me smile when I think of them. Gone from my sight, but never from my memory.

I met Mr. Silver when he began work at CCSU in 1998-1999. I was a student worker in the campus Microlab at the time. He was such a kind man. I'll never forget the many times he would offer to bring in coffee for us and I will always treasure the wonderful conversations I had with him. My deepest condolences to the Silver family on this sad occasion.

Words could never describe my love for him and you all. My only father figure, he stepped in when my own never stepped up. Because of him, I know what a father should be. One of my biggest cheerleaders, he always knew I would succeed and always took the time to let me know it. I am blessed to have had him, and to continue to have you all in my life. I thank God he made us family. I am here for you for ALWAYS. ❤️❤️❤️
All my love, Bea

The first time I met Bob I knew I met a Gentleman and was always glad that our paths have met. He always showed sincerity in everything he said and did. He had a genuine Love, no exception, for his wife and children. I would bet my last dollar that he didn't even know the meaning of anger. He was a loving man, not only to his family but to all he would come in contact with. I only wish I knew him longer for he was the king of person that would bring nothing less than positive reinforcement to all. I and all will miss you Bob, one less Gentleman on this earth but one that God welcomes by his side. Rest in peace Bob.
